  • Stoopid Commercials
  • Have you ever seen those commercials where they just talk so fast and the commercial lasts a few seconds? Then you ask “What the heck was that ad all about?” Sometimes you just have to wonder how someone got paid to create it.
  • "I find comedy the best source for advertising a product."

  • Sexy Asian Ads
  • It all started with a billboard featuring a Hong Kong pop star who bared her thigh in an ad for skin lotion…the barrage of complaints began as the scantily clad woman “offended local sensibilities.” Government regulations in China require that female ad images are "healthy and positive" and “help foster sound morals among young people.”
  • ""healthy and positive" ads has a good ring to it, but I'm guessing that is just a guise for the government to do some censorship for the "good" of their people."

  • Recession Dyes
  • Jobs are falling by the wayside. The price of fuel is out of control and foreclosures are at an all time high. America is tightening its belt. Personally, I’ve lengthened time between hair appointments; I don’t go out to dinner as much and probably won’t be buying a new car anytime soon – or maybe I’ll buy a hybrid.
  • "I'm giving up a lot of my standard media purchases (dvd, comics, books, and video games) to tighten up my belt."

  • Disney’s Idolmania
  • Fox’s American Idol, the juggernaut of the airwaves and a marketing mother ship, is taking another step toward world domination. Walt Disney’s Hollywood Studios is opening a live performance Idol attraction in late 2008. Their goal is to “try to recreate the excitement of the final 24.”
  • "Product placement within ALL media is getting crazy. I was playing the XBox 360 racing game Burnout: Paradise and no matter how fast I drove I couldn't escape the CompUSA or The Simpsons: The Game billboard ad placement throughout the in game fun. INSANE."

  • Gluttony 101
  • Welcome to “uber-Burger”- a place inhabited by mountains of fatty beef piled on lard-laced buns and topped with not-so-usual condiments such as potato chips and hot dogs…yes, you read me right – topped with hot dogs. Carl’s Jr. tested this shameful splurge over the summer, calling it “the ultimate picnic burger.”
  • "Until the parents step up and monitor what goes into their children's mouths, things aren't going to change and children will continue to get fatter and fatter. Twinkies and McDonalds were around when i was young, and I ALWAYS wanted them, but my parents restricted how much I had both. Parents need to parent."
