I am not one of those people who see conspiracies in everything I encounter on a daily basis. I do not believe in aliens, the magic bullet theory nor do I believe in the insidious plot by the “Illuminati” to take over the world. However, I do believe in the negative consequences of racist advertising practices.
"When I began reading this article I was thinking, "get over yourself" but when I looked at the advertisement your article makes reference to, I changed my mind. The ad screams racism and I find it offensive. In answer to your question as to who draws the line - that would be society. Maybe by the fact that this billboard was pulled, society has spoken."
Military families do their fair share of moving which means finding different ways to entertain children when waiting around or sitting on a plane flight. I was excited when I found out that PBS (the Sesame Street company), offers a website for kids with mobile downloads
"I think that if a ring tone gets any child "hooked" on cell phones, there is a much bigger problem at hand. Why not teach children what cell phones are for and how and when to use them properly? I think the fact that there are a multitude of choices out there is just plain fun. The mentality that would lay blame for overuse of a cellular phone at the feet of those who offer a ring tone is the same mentality as the person who blames Smith and Wesson for a murder down the street – get real! Take some responsibility and teach your children what you want them to believe. Show them how you want them to behave. And what is wrong with games on cell phones?"
