Re: Uganda's Pied piper: I hate to bring this up, but the question over lack of awareness/involvement on the part of American public may require self-examination…

Commercials offer a company the chance to connect with millions of diverse consumers. In Beyonce’s ad for her perfume Heat she wears a red silk wrap-around that barely covers her bottom or top. She belts out the song Fire while sauntering seductively through a dimly lit room. The more the celebrity moves the more her breasts are revealed to the point where her nipples are barely covered. And if that is not enough she looks as if she has just came out of a tub full of baby oil!

This advertisement is so revealing that parents in Britain reported the advertisement as unsuitable for children to watch; leading it to be aired after 7:30 pm in the UK to avoid children being exposed to the sexual scenes.

It is said that sex sells but how far will these ads go to make money?

I am sure many men found this commercial as well as many others in the same genre entertaining; however, as a female I know that many women find it as a put down to our gender. The advertisers probably thought that giving the illusion of sex would cause the women to think that the perfume would make them more alluring to their significant other. Although that may be true there must be some morals intact when creating such commercials. The bottom line is that even though sex sells one must remember that it is degrading as well as inappropriate to be viewed by individuals under a certain age group. Check out the commercial.

Do you think the ad is effective?
