Black Friday is Dead

Black Friday is Dead

Delicia M. Christman

For the last several years, I have been a Black Friday shopper, but the recent trend of stores moving their opening times to midnight may be enough to stop me.

Being a Black Friday shopper used to be about commitment to the game, to getting the best deal. It was about waking up at 3 a.m. for sales that started at 4 a.m. and commiserating with others who did the same. Last year, Wal-Mart began to change all that, making Black Friday sales accessible to anyone who could stay up late.

Instead of parents seeking perfect presents at one-day affordable prices, the store was packed, far more than it is at 4 a.m., with obnoxious and generally, young, people who still reek of the alcohol they consumed as part of the family holiday celebration. What passed for courtesy at 4 am, limited though it might be, was replaced by the basic inebriated attitude of people who left the bar too soon, hoping to score a 40" plasma television for $300.

The shift in the target market for Black Friday sales was quite obvious; as was the fact that perhaps marketers have not thought this through completely. I get that it was like an auction, everyone moving the store opening an hour earlier to get customers first. Wal-Mart went in big, bidding the whole thing, and opening at midnight. The problem is that now a handful of stores start sales at midnight, but others still wait for a respectable 4 a.m. Some even wait until -- gasp -- 6 a.m.

So here's a note to the genius who made this decision: I'm probably not going to do both midnight and 4 a.m. and personally, I like the morning crowd better. Even though there is still a big rush of consumers, I can deal with a slightly different type of crowd. And the most important thing to you -- I have a lot more money to spend than most of those drunken kids.

How has Black Friday shopping affected you this year?

I really am able to agree with you in the sense that black Friday was for the purpose of getting the best deals. in my case I happened to be at Wal-Mart and they were separating all the invaluable items and were putting them in a skid so that people can feel that those items were being brought from elsewhere, but the truth was that they would separate certain items that people didn't buy throughout the year and then they want to push it to people. If I didn't buy these items throughout the year why would I buy this now? For those shoppers that still value this Black Friday, be selective in your purchases and have fun with it. Don’t obligate into buying anything because that is their strategy.

HARLEY DAVIDSON SHOES

Have you ever been in a situation where you wished that you were wearing a more comfortable and safer boot than the usual one that everyone else sells? The reason why I say this is because I also felt like this before. With thousand of products being introduced each year, people find it ever harder to navigate through new styles. We not only look for a unique style but most importantly we are looking for comfort because our feet are who take all the pain when we are on our feet hours on end. We really never think about this but the truth is that if someone doesn’t go through a situation they don’t make things a priority to make things better. I have shopped in many places that talk about their quality of products, but the truth is that they all have the same materials on them which eventually they all let me down.
The reason why I feel that many companies have let me down is because a lot of these product used are made with fabrics that is not durable and as a result the boots don’t last and the customers has to go elsewhere to purchase something better and in the end it is always the same result. The question now is where does it end? My answer today is that I am excited to introduce the most innovative boot made today, the Harley Davidson boot of the year. This boot is crucial in protecting your feet no matter how long you are on your feet, you will be protected and also feel the comfort you have always look for and haven’t been able to find anywhere else.
You must try it in order to experience what I am trying to explain in the sense that this boots are designed to protect your ankles and lower legs. The bottom line is that if you are looking for a tough boot this is the one that you won’t regret owning. Try all the shoes as you wish as I have and then try this boot. Having choices will lead you to what many of the people are seeking. The price should not be a reason for this boot not to be purchase because feet is what holds the structure of your body and your feet is the most important part of your body. Wear it with attitude!
