Unfortunately, depends on your p.o.v. I don' t have the disposable income to indulge myself in every fad that comes along, ergo, I am a "late joiner"…
I was watching television the other day and came across a commercial for the McDonald’s Happy Meal. It was about a little boy called spaceman Stu. The commercial targets children and shows them anyone can imagine and shoot for the stars. The commercial also targets parents, because it helps children focus on the healthy items at McDonalds, such as milk and the apple bites in a Happy Meal. The commercial is very simple and easy to remember because of the catchy jingle that is a riff about spaceman Stu floating through the sky. My children saw this and told me that they wanted to get a Happy Meal with the apples and the milk. This is an important part to every parent because it helps the children opt for a healthier diet at McDonald's - not just the fries and sodas.
The commercial is unique to the McDonald's theme, because normally it is about Ronald McDonald dancing around with children showing them that you can do anything. This commercial is different and also the lyrics and melody are perfect to catch the attention of children. McDonald's has realized that if you can market something to a child then the parents will follow, especially if you tell the parents that the food is good for them. Parents have become so health conscious for their children.
The commercial is a hit with my kids because they sing the jingle all through the house and ask to eat at McDonalds all the time. Eating healthy and exercising is always a great life style to follow and McDonalds targeting children with milk and apples as sides is a great commercial for that.
Have you seen Spaceman Stu?
