Unfortunately, depends on your p.o.v. I don' t have the disposable income to indulge myself in every fad that comes along, ergo, I am a "late joiner"…
Marketing can affect our lives in many ways by creating memories and sometimes passing loyalty through generations of consumer families. The Dallas Cowboys and the sustained marketing of the NFL have had the largest impact throughout my years of media consumption.
My dad taught me to be a Cowboys fan when I was a child and now I am continuing the tradition with pictures of my newborns leaving the hospital in Cowboys clothing. The Dallas Cowboys brand is a lifestyle for me.
From pictures of Emmitt Smith and other Cowboys on the wall of my house, the Cowboys shirts I wear every week, the Dallas Cowboys baseball cap for golfing and the Dallas Cowboys water cup I use at work illustrate the advertising success. The stronghold on their target consumer base is so fortified; many families are proud to announce their sustained allegiance. Diehard fans often refer to a team’s actions as we, since they feel a strong belonging to the brand. The NFL markets itself to influence consumers’ lives by creating an allegiance to the brand and maintaining consumer loyalty throughout the years.
It is truly amazing how many aspects of our lives are affected by the marketing of products. Even now, when I think of my children, I picture them coming home from the hospital in their Dallas Cowboy pajamas.
What brand loyalty are you sharing with your family?
