Great job Evelyn
About a month ago, I saw an interesting commercial on Planet Green for a company called Seventh Generation. The commercial ended with a house formed into the shape of a leaf. The imagery was very appealing and stuck in my head. Then last week, I found that same image online. I began to look into this company called Seventh Generation.
Seventh Generation is a twenty year old company that not only focuses on environmentally safe products, but also on impacting the world in a positive way. Their products feature natural cleaning agents with no harmful chemicals. They have cleaning products for the home and laundry, baby care products including diapers, household paper products, and even feminine hygiene products. They believe so highly in social responsibility that they give ten percent of their profits to support organizations that are working to positively impact our world. Organizations such as Save the Poles and WAGES benefit through this partnership to change the world.
Seventh Generation is not just helping the world through the sales of their products; they are impacting suppliers by making sure that they are treated respectfully and fairly. Seventh Generation is working to restore the environment through reducing waste, reusing, and recycling. They are helping consumers think about purchases and their impact on the world around them. They are accomplishing all of this by being completely transparent in their business practices.
This amazing company has really focused in on the bigger picture. That bigger picture is the fact that we are all part of a large system functioning together. What we do matters today, tomorrow, and in the future! This company’s high ethical, social, and environmental stance is an excellent example of where all companies need to be headed. The days of looking out for number one are long gone. It is time to start looking out for our future. This is the same kind of social responsibility that I would want in any business.
What about you? How will what you do today affect the next seven generations?
