Re: Uganda's Pied piper: I hate to bring this up, but the question over lack of awareness/involvement on the part of American public may require self-examination…

Unfortunately, depends on your p.o.v. I don' t have the disposable income to indulge myself in every fad that comes along, ergo, I am a "late joiner"…
With a catchy jingle and little smiling faces it’s no wonder why my 6 year old loves the commercial. The Happy Nappers ad would hypnotically stop my son in his tracks as he quietly gazed at the screen. For days he would walk around the house singing :
They are happy, Happy Nappers, and they love to play with you! Zip‘em, pop’em squeeze and hug them. They will always know you love them! You can be a happy napper too. They are happy, Happy Nappers, They will make all your dreams come true.
Happy Napper found a way into many homes through its sly cognitive marketing techniques. With the memorable rhyming tune, it’s no wonder that kids all over are singing its praises. Add an overly excited spokeswomen to the commercial who goes more in depth about the cuddly friend and the benefits of the Happy Napper, and you have a winner. The commercial wraps up everything a child wants into a furry pillow package.
My son now has three Happy Nappers because they need friends themselves when he’s at school. They are a comfy pillow, a “lovable friend” and they do have the possibility of making nap time or bed time fun. They are reasonably priced and a portion of the profits go to the Home Sweet Home Fund that benefits The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation. So not only are my son and other children happy they have their lovable friends, but parents also know that they are helping out a great cause.
What ad jungles do the kids in your family sing?
