MAC Cosmetics is a high-end cosmetics line that markets to women. MAC’s mission statement is to be to the world’s leading make-up authority among both professional make-up artist and consumers.
VIVA Glam was established in 1994 to help support men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS globally. The first VIVA Glam produced in 1994 was an outspoken red lipstick that had universal appeal and glamour. Since then MAC has introduced six total shades and used celebrities as spokespersons to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.
All the money earned from the selling price of VIVA Glam lipstick purchases are donated to the MAC AIDs Fund (MAF). Its mission is making a difference, one VIVA GLAM lipstick at a time. The sale of one tube of lipstick becomes 1 pair of school shoes for a child orphaned by AIDS, 1 party pack for child to celebrate a birthday, Christmas or Easter, 1 Rapid Oral HIV Test, 2 hours of childcare for women during a doctor’s appointment and the list goes on. To date, the MAF has raised more than $218 million dollars to support HIV/AIDS projects around the world.
MAF recognizes that teenagers aren’t the only people engaging in risky behavior when it comes to sex, so they have partnered with Gay Men’s Health Crisis, Griot Circle and SAGE. This bold marketing campaign focuses on prevention for older adults while simultaneously, giving training to organizations that service seniors in New York City. MAF is making a difference one lipstick at time for HIV/AIDS research and helping people affected by the disease.
Now that you know about VIVA Glam’s lipsticks, will you consider buying one to support a good cause?
