This was a very well written article. While I do agree with you on some of the statements I also disagree. It would be nice if there were no side…

Very well written. I could not agree more there is no such thing as a "happy period" other than they confirm you are not pregnant. These ads are probably…

Green is a new trend that is often viewed as boring or "hippie". Never having seen these commercials, going off of your description, it seems that…
I just saw the Red Bull commercial that opens with two teenage boys standing outside a Catholic church. One says, “Do you think it will work?” The other replies, “Ha, you just wait!” After drinking a Red Bull, we see the teen in confession telling the priest that he has been with a loose woman. After asking the boy his name, the priest continues to ask the boy if the loose woman was Tiffany from the post office, Brandy from the supermarket or Angie the new teacher. The boy continues to reply, “I can’t tell.” The next scene changes to the priest leaving the church and the two boys outside again. The other boy asks, “How’d it go?” The reply from the other teenager is, “I got two new leads.”
Wow, is all I have to say! Sure it is funny. The first time I saw it I laughed. The second time, I saw it through the eyes of being a mother. The more I see it, the more I realized just how unethical the commercial really was.
The ad is mocking Catholic confessions, and the dignity of the priest. Everyone knows that Catholic priests are not married, nor are they with women, and they are showing the priest violating his oath, by breaching confidentiality about other congregants. There are many other ways to promote how Red Bull gives you wings other than teenage sex and sacrilege!
Would you be comfortable knowing that your teenager finds this humorous, or sees it as an incentive for sex?
