This was a very well written article. While I do agree with you on some of the statements I also disagree. It would be nice if there were no side…

Very well written. I could not agree more there is no such thing as a "happy period" other than they confirm you are not pregnant. These ads are probably…

Green is a new trend that is often viewed as boring or "hippie". Never having seen these commercials, going off of your description, it seems that…
My children were breastfed and I think it’s one of the healthiest and best gifts a mother can give to her child. While watching CBS, a segment came across about the new campaign of scare tactics “forcing” mothers to nurse. Both professionals were for the campaign, but one felt a commercial with a pregnant woman riding a mechanical bull with a caption that read, “You would not take a risk while pregnant, why start when the baby is born” is not a positive image. Why is it a big deal about how breastfeeding is advertised? Why is it no one questions the scare tactics of pharmaceuticals, and the government used to force or scare parents into getting children vaccinated? Both campaigns have equal risks.
Look at how many recalls have been issued for baby food and how do you recall food that a person already ingested? You can’t! Neither can the government play God if your child has an allergic reaction to a shot. Breastfeeding has many benefits like protecting babies and benefiting the society; the only negative about it is if the mother is on drugs and does not have a healthy diet. Nursing your child provides him or her with antibodies that cater specifically to your baby’s need for fats, proteins, and water, and breast milk is much easier to digest.
I understand not all women can breastfeed, but I don’t think tactics should be acceptable for one commercial over the other because the government feels the safety of the country is more important than your child. Homework for you, next time you see the vaccination commercial pay attention to the side effects it lists like other pharmaceutical commercials.
How do you feel about a pro-breastfeeding ad campaign?
