Real-Life Weeds

Real-Life Weeds

Stephany Duarte

I live in a small town in Michigan and 6 months ago a new store opened up called Hydro Grow. People can among other things learn how to grow their own Hydroponic Marijuana plants. The real reason these stores are cropping up in our neighborhoods is due to the legalization of the Medical Marijuana trade.

The growers of the Medical Marijuana can go to these hydro stores and buy the supplies they need. They can also find reference books and information to grow the most potent and desirable plants possible. It is a very competitive market to have the strongest marijuana that will give the most intense high, and these growers are highly skilled in their ability to deliver the best product to the “patient”.

There is no such thing as a regular bag of marijuana anymore and, this was called “regs.” Now all that is available on the street is the “Hydro” type of Marijuana and it comes at a much higher cost. This higher quality “Hydro” marijuana has been around awhile but you used to be able to find the cheaper “regs.”

Some of the growers for the patients with legitimate Medical Marijuana cards are trying to provide a service and grow these plants for these very ill people so that they can have as normal a life as possible. On the other hand you have dishonest people who are taking advantage of the system and growing the plants “legally” but are distributing the bounty both legally and illegally. These people even take it as far as hooking up a person who is not medically qualified to get a marijuana card from an “honest” doctor with a doctor who will provide the card for a fee of approximately $130.00.

It just seems to me that it was only a matter of time before the dishonest people corrupted something that was meant for good, and to help a lot of very sick people who suffer from cancer and other serious illnesses to feel better. Is there anything that can ever stay pure in this world, and stay the course of what it was intended for or does everything have to fall prey to the dishonest and criminal elements of this world?

How do you feel about medical marijuana?
