To me, there is nothing better than receiving a Hallmark card. Whether it’s for Mother’s Day, a birthday, Anniversary, Wedding or Sympathy; the words in the cards are priceless. I spent more than $75 on Mother’s Day for cards to give to my seven sisters, four sister-in-laws, a Mother –in-law and Godmother.
I always felt it was worth it because the words seemed to capture my innermost thoughts. It was not until I received that one unexpected Hallmark card, did I realize how emotionally powerful the words were to the recipient.
It was in 1999 when my Father passed and I was still in mourning months after the funeral. It happened so suddenly that some people did not know that he was gone. I had just lost my job and it felt like my world was falling down around me. I still remember how I felt when I opened the mail and there was a card, not any card, but a Hallmark card. The words were as if someone had gotten in my head. I was so moved by the words and I still remember how comforting the words felt as I read them over and over.
The words became my affirmation that things would get better. Have you ever received a Hallmark that said all the right words? It’s an awesome and almost scary feeling. Hallmark continues to hit the mark with a diverse marketing plan of cards for all occasions, all ages and all ethnicities.
Hallmark has cards at many price levels and they have not overlooked the market for e-cards. Hallmark continues to capture the power of words. Hallmark lives up to its vision, “when you care enough to send the very best.”
How do you feel about getting greeting cards? Do you have an affinity for Hallmark?
