Very well written. I could not agree more there is no such thing as a "happy period" other than they confirm you are not pregnant. These ads are probably…

Emotional Advertising

St. Jude’s Kids

St. Jude's Kids

Theresa Kay Conerly

People are bombarded everyday from charities that want your charitable dollars to help their organization. One that comes to mind is St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. It is a hospital devoted to children with terrible diseases that seem to be hopeless -- St. Jude’s take referrals from physicians to help children defeat the horrible diseases that plague their lives. They excel in new research for finding different treatments and drugs to fight childhood cancers and many other diseases.

No child is ever turned away, even if they are not financially able. St. Jude’s will pay for all costs; travel, lodging, meals and treatment.

This is the reason advertising for donations is so important to St. Jude’s and they have some of the best emotional advertising out there. Children talking about what they want to be when they grow-up will tug at your heart when you know that they may not make it to being a grown-up unless the dollars keep coming in to fund necessary research. One of my favorite commercials is when movie stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Robin Williams, and Antonio Banderas talk with children with cancer and give them a big hug asking you to donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to find a cure.

They touch your heart and bring a tear to your eye and make you want to donate to help a child battle their various diseases. NBA star Danny Granger joins Hoops for St. Jude’s to help bring funds to the hospital. Salon specialists do hair and make-up on young men and women battling cancer so they can go to the prom without feeling too conspicuous. Some young women are brave enough to go bald to the prom. All this advertisement is centered to touch your heart and let you see why your charitable dollars are needed at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Would you donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital because of this type of advertising?
