This was a very well written article. While I do agree with you on some of the statements I also disagree. It would be nice if there were no side…

Very well written. I could not agree more there is no such thing as a "happy period" other than they confirm you are not pregnant. These ads are probably…

Green is a new trend that is often viewed as boring or "hippie". Never having seen these commercials, going off of your description, it seems that…
The commercial begins with a beautiful day and an adorable little yellow Lab puppy riding in a Bentley expressing how he is ready for some “me” time. The camera follows the pup from a nail salon where manicures were in order and then off to get a massage -a “little rub.” After that he is off to a salon getting a trim and where he proceeds to look at himself in a mirror and say “lookin’ sexy.” Next the little guy is seen in a tub surrounded by flower petals, continuing his pampering. A spokesperson extols that when you, the consumer, demands the very best – it is Cottonelle toilet paper.
What I do not comprehend about this ad is
A. what does a puppy have to do with toilet paper and
B. why is a puppy in a T.P. commercial saying the word “sexy”?!
It makes absolutely no sense and offends me. When my daughter is watching age appropriate shows, I should not have to stand guard and keep the mute button handy for practically distasteful television ads. Children are only children for a short time and I would like to keep it that way for as long as possible.
Yes, I understand that these days sex sells everything from ice cream to cars. Apparently nothing is off limits, not even bath tissue. I am not sure what target audience they are after. If you put a puppy in a commercial who is going to be the first to notice and pay attention? Kids! So let’s look at this, there is a puppy-there is the word sexy- sexy puppies? How does this sell toilet paper?
Do you pick your favorite brands on how a dog can get his groove on?
