This was a very well written article. While I do agree with you on some of the statements I also disagree. It would be nice if there were no side…

Very well written. I could not agree more there is no such thing as a "happy period" other than they confirm you are not pregnant. These ads are probably…

Green is a new trend that is often viewed as boring or "hippie". Never having seen these commercials, going off of your description, it seems that…
Many commercials feature celebrities but some of them leave you wondering if the advertising is more of a product placement than an actual commercial for the product. Case in point: the car commercial featuring Jennifer Lopez.
The commercial starts off with a view of men running into the street, followed by a shot of Jennifer Lopez driving a car down the busy street. You quickly notice mobs of men running after her or is it the car? As she begins to sing her song a man jumps on the hood of the car but instead of stopping (as any rational human being would do), she continues on her course as if it’s a normal occurrence. You then see her casually driving and singing her song. Out of nowhere she has to swerve left and right and then a message heading appears reading “Like the car?” Commercial continues playing as she’s still swerving all over the place even over the sidewalk; another message heading appears that reads “Go online” (of course no online info is given).
She is suddenly stopped (I can only assume it’s due to the car crashes she just caused and the turned upside down burning vehicle behind her). There is a quick shot of Jennifer Lopez’ face as though expressing concern when another message heading appears that reads “Like JLo?” Two men pull her out of the car and yet another message appears “Get in line”. The ending of the commercial features Jennifer Lopez doing a choreographed routine with the mob of men all of whom are blocking the car from view.
I’m confused now, was that supposed to be a car commercial or was that a scene for an upcoming movie that Jennifer Lopez is in or perhaps her latest music video?
Why are marketers focusing their attention more on the paid actor/actress than on the product they are trying to market? I’m not sure what their goal was for this commercial, but I can only seem to recall Jennifer Lopez and not the car they flashed sparingly across the screen. Maybe I am not the target market.
At least someone in that marketing group was smart enough to put the car’s logo and name at the end of the commercial and oh yes I see it now …. the online website to visit in small print, hold on while I find my magnifying glass.
Do you know what car is being advertised?
