Like many among us, I drive to relax. The trouble these days is the absolute certainty that my twilight peace will be shattered by an abrupt encounter with little signs. These little signs which scream out to my calm, like tiny sirens of a desperate hope, questions fill my mind. What is that, and what does it mean? Who is it even talking to?
As cold and unwelcome reality chews through my bliss, I begin to take note of conspicuous placements on whispering trees and soft street-lights. My durable thoughts are, yellow? A bit down the road, mind firmly at work, I grudgingly invest at discerning the message. A-Ha! They’re talking to those with no other out. Grey despair for the victims of an economy is all that remains. It is dark. I am going home.
Yellow, We Buy Houses, despair. Perhaps I got the intended message and I just don’t like it or perhaps I missed it. Despair stinks so now, I must know! Internet search: We Buy Houses, and what’s this? These signs are a business. These signs are an industry! Emotion is reeling, I continue to dig. Confusion sets in, wait! They want me to invest in a business? Mind twisting, the plight of the hopeless is purged to subdue a growing anger. Duped, no wait, perhaps the little sirens are calling for more! Reason chimes in. Cross-reference: We Buy Houses, businesses. Rational gears and technique begin to precipitate meaning. The truth of the point is at hand!
Industry, scam or both, research reveals what is expected on a case-by-case basis. Many of these are individuals advertising capital in hopes of buying a next home on the cheap.
Still more are investors, advertising a way out in search of equity and deeds with no option. These are often flagged as questionable alerts on local bulletins and at Better Business Bureau offices.
The remaining ones, these are the ones who are leaving behind those signs of a desperate hope. They are the dreamers, the believers and the bold, who put out their money and took in a plan. They are the ones advertising their hope for the future on now-silent trees and hard street-lights.
The message is clear it’s just not for me. My answer is, don’t be any of them! How do you feel about these yellow signs?
